Jermaine La Juane Jackson (born December 11, 1954) is an American singer-songwriter, bassist, and a foundational member of the Jackson family. From 1964 to 1975, Jermaine served as the second lead vocalist of the Jackson 5 and played bass guitar. After a successful solo career at Motown, he rejoined the group—then known as The Jacksons—in 1983. Beyond his musical achievements, Jermaine is the patriarch of a large, creatively gifted family. His children have followed in the family’s footsteps, becoming actors, musicians, and filmmakers who continue to shape global entertainment.
