Charles Charras
Biography
Charles Charras was a man of the theatre with a rich yet discreet career. A student and later the secretary of Charles Dullin, he carried this legacy forward by training several generations of actors, from Jean‑Louis Trintignant to Pierre Richard. A loyal member of Jacques Fabbri’s troupe for nearly twenty years, he multiplied roles in film and television, always marked by the humble, precise presence that defined him. A poet in his quieter moments and a lover of the landscapes of Chamalières‑sur‑Loire, he devoted his life to art and transmission. He passed away in Shanghai in 2010, at the age of 90, after a life shaped entirely by the stage and by words.
